Where Your Gifts Go

Unrestricted Gifts
If you wish to make a gift and allow the Archdiocese to determine how the funds will be used, this is called an Unrestricted Gift. These gifts go to the Hartford Roman Catholic Diocesan Corporation to be used at the discretion and direction of the Archbishop of Hartford.

Restricted Gifts
Restricted Gifts are those in which you direct us to the ministry or ministries your gift will be helping. These can be made to the following entities in the Archdiocese of Hartford:

  • Any parish in the Archdiocese of Hartford
  • Any Catholic school in the Archdiocese of Hartford

    • Other ministries and programs:

    Spirituality and Worship Education Communications Family Life and Special Needs Social Justice Priests, Religious & Deacons Ministries

    Upon Settlement, What Percentage Of Planned Gifts Are Credited To The Beneficiary, And What Percentage Goes To The Archdiocese? 

    90% of the fair market value of all planned gifts at the time of settlement will go to your designated parish, school, program or ministry. The remaining 10% will be credited to the Archdiocese to cover administrative and management expense.
